Why Choose
Mediation
Life was not meant to be perfect, nor free from conflict, for there is ‘opposition in all things’. Mediation is an effective vehicle that can be used to manage and even resolve conflict. It’s about identifying what’s most important to you, re-shaping, re-identifying, and if desired – preserving, rebuilding, or re-stablishing splintered relationships as you look to the future and take the necessary steps to move beyond today.
The role of your Mediator is to support both parties involved in the conflict. They will not take sides with one party or the other, nor make judgments, problem solve or share their personal opinions. Their role is to gently guide the ship so to speak. They facilitate the conversation between the parties and guide them so that they can address the disagreements or barriers that are impeding their ability to move past the conflict or make necessary decisions that will impact their future.
Your trained and seasoned Mediator will engage each person in a dialogue that will allow all involved to tell their side of the story. Each party will have the opportunity to express their interests and needs in an environment and space that cultivates the ability to hear another’s viewpoint, explore viable options and solutions, make informed decisions, and once agreed upon become the road map for moving forward.
If a workable solution is the outcome of the mediation, a document will be drafted summarizing each decision made.
The mediation process is confidential and always voluntary, that is the incredible benefit of mediation, you get to decide what works for you, you control the process and the decisions made. Even if the outcome does not entirely resolve your issues, mediation gives each party a chance to have a voice and to identify those issues that are most important to them in a safe, structured environment.
As you look at alternatives for resolving your current conflict or differences with your child(ren)’s parent, a family member, school system, co-worker, business partner, neighbor or if you are considering a separation and divorce, what do you have to lose considering the astronomical costs associated with a court-based process to resolve the conflict? Not to mention the complete lack of confidentiality in litigation, the amount of time associated with the entire process and perhaps most importantly the loss of control in making decisions that affect you and your family.
Let Connie Fraser Mediation provide you with the necessary tools to manage or resolve the conflict in your life.
